Equine Photography Scotland | Professional Horse Photographer Across Scotland

Equine photography is about far more than a beautiful picture of a horse. It is about the bond between a horse and the person who loves them. That bond is built on trust, patience and countless hours together. Because no two partnerships are ever quite the same, my horse photography is never rushed. Every horse has its own personality, so every session becomes a chance to keep those memories forever.

Equine Photography in Scotland

Welcome to Ola Molik Photography. I specialise in equine photography across Scotland, creating timeless portraits of horses, riders and the bond they share. Whether you own a young competition horse, a family pony or a retired companion, the approach is the same. So there is no rush, no pressure and no fixed formula. Above all, I would be honoured to create images you will treasure for a lifetime.

Locations That Become Part of Your Story

As a horse photographer, I work in some of the country’s most breathtaking places. These range from peaceful forests and golden beaches to dramatic mountains, rolling hills and quiet woodland trails. Private yards work beautifully too, especially for horses who feel most relaxed at home. In other words, almost any corner of Scotland can become the right backdrop for your story.

Based Near Glasgow, Travelling Across Scotland

Although I am based near Glasgow, I regularly travel across the country. I am always excited to discover new places, too. So if you have a favourite beach, woodland, castle, estate or mountain path in mind, tell me about it. Above all, I want to create something that belongs to you and your horse alone.

Your Equine Photography Session, Tailored to You

Maybe you want a relaxed portrait session close to home. Or perhaps you dream of a Highland photoshoot, black background portraits or an adventurous day out. Either way, every session is built around you, your horse and your vision.

My goal is simple: to create beautiful artwork that celebrates your horse exactly as they are.

Professional Equine Photography Across Scotland

Your horse is far more than an animal. They are your best friend, your therapist, your biggest teacher and your greatest adventure. Over the years they have carried you through difficult days, and they have celebrated your wins too. Somehow they also became part of your family. Because every horse leaves hoofprints on our hearts, photography lets those memories live on.

Every Horse Is Different

As an experienced horse photographer, I know that no two horses are alike. Some are playful, others are cheeky, and a few are so gentle they barely move. Meanwhile, plenty of horses are simply full of spirit.

That is why every session is designed around your horse’s temperament, not a fixed schedule. There is never any pressure to rush. Instead, I work patiently and give your horse time to settle. As a result, expressions come naturally rather than being posed. Whether your horse is energetic, nervous, retired or still in training, the session moves at their pace. After all, their comfort always comes first.

Horse Photography Glasgow and Beyond

If you are searching for horse photography in Glasgow, you have come to the right place. The same goes for a horse photoshoot near your yard, or for an experienced equine photographer anywhere in Scotland. Being based near Glasgow, I regularly work across these areas:

Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire. Stirling, Perthshire, Loch Lomond, The Trossachs, Edinburgh and Fife. The Scottish Borders, Dumfries and Galloway, Aberdeenshire, Moray, Angus and Argyll. Plus the Highlands and the Isle of Skye, and everywhere in between.

One of my favourite parts of this job is the travelling. In fact, I genuinely enjoy exploring new places and finding locations that suit each horse. So it does not matter whether your horse lives on a private yard, a family farm or a competition yard. I will travel to you.

Perhaps you have found a hidden woodland track or a peaceful loch. Maybe there is a mountain viewpoint or a quiet beach where your horse feels relaxed. If so, let’s create something incredible together. Every session is unique, because every horse deserves photographs that reflect their own story.

My Favourite Equine Photography Locations in Scotland

Every location brings something different to a horse photoshoot. So it is worth thinking about the mood you want before we choose. Below are four settings I return to again and again.

Beach Horse Photoshoots

There is something magical about photographing horses beside the sea. Open space, natural light and movement come together beautifully on the coast. As a result, beach sessions almost always produce breathtaking images.

They work particularly well for horse and rider portraits, walking shots, sunset sessions and dramatic silhouettes.

Scotland has many beautiful coastal locations, so there is usually one within reach of your yard. Perhaps you dream of waves breaking behind your horse, or a canter along the sand. Even a quiet walk together makes a beach session worth remembering.

Forest and Woodland Horse Photography

Woodlands, on the other hand, create a completely different atmosphere. They offer rich natural colour, peaceful surroundings and a far more intimate feeling. Think autumn leaves turning gold, sunlight filtering through branches and quiet paths with nobody else around.

As a result, these locations are perfect for romantic, timeless equine photography sessions. They also suit horses who prefer a calmer environment. After all, woodland tends to be much quieter than a busy beach or an open hillside.

Highland and Mountain Horse Photoshoots

The Scottish Highlands offer some of the most dramatic scenery in the world. Mountains, valleys, lochs and open landscapes create a backdrop that matches the strength of horses. That is why a Highland horse photoshoot suits owners who want something genuinely adventurous.

Imagine your horse framed by misty mountains, heather-covered hills and dramatic Scottish skies. These images are more than portraits, because they capture a feeling of freedom.

Castle and Historic Estate Equine Photography

Scotland’s castles and historic estates provide a beautiful setting for elegant equestrian portraits. Especially for owners who want something traditional, these locations create photographs with a timeless, painterly feel. Picture a horse standing proudly beside ancient stone walls. Or a rider walking through historic grounds, with centuries of Scottish history in the frame.

I am always open to creative ideas. In fact, I love working with clients to find locations that mean something to them. So if you have a special place in mind, please get in touch. I am happy to travel across Scotland to create your dream horse photography session.
